I posted this on my Facebook page a few months ago and thought it would make a great Blog post! There is REAL value in what I do! Some people don’t see it, but most do! I put a lot of time and effort into the images that I create for my clients! Its what I do, its a part of who I am, and I’m very passionate about my art!

I was taking a snapshot yesterday of my husband playing on the beach with my children. It dawned on me that several years from now we would be looking back over the pictures remembering all these moments when our children were young! …how they looked…their smiles…their personality…etc…and I was grateful for the artistic gift God has given me.

Today however…I was just told basically…I was to expensive and this potential client would rather get a family member to take their pics….now….if this family member is a professional (great quality) photographer then why would they have come to me in the first place?…just a shot in the dark that they have no experience. Now…first of all…I’m not to expensive…I’m actually cheaper than Walmart and Sears…what is the deal with people? These are your lifelong memories….would you walk into a dentist office, haggle with the dentist about price, and then storm out saying you’ll just get a family member to pull your rotten tooth? I don’t think so…Why would you trust someone with no experience to capture such a precious time in your life that you CAN NOT get back? It blows my mind how people think sometimes. I can’t tell you how many people have come to me, after the fact, and said “I wish I had booked you. I should have invested my money with someone who could have really captured my children in a way I want to remember them” or the brides who have said…”I should have booked you instead” People…you can’t get these moments back.

You can’t get the moments back…why risk it?
